April Wine of the Month

North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon
Wine Enthusiast’s North American Winery of the Year for 2023
More than a century ago, Gaspare and Caterina Indelicato immigrated from Sicily to the United States. Twelve years after arriving in America, with little to draw on but a long family history of grape-growing and an entrepreneur’s gift for seizing opportunity, Gaspare entered the wine trade. In 1924, he planted a vineyard in Manteca, California. With it, he planted the foundation of his future success in the California wine industry.
The winery is located in Napa along the Silverado trail, which was home to cattle and horse ranching in the 1800’s. Today, the Indelicato family continues to honor Gaspare’s legacy by crafting fine wines from Napa and now with the Cornerstone Collection the North Coast of California.
Grapes were sourced from Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino, and Lake County to create the perfect expression of North Coast. Aged for 12-14 months in Oak allowed provides the wine good weight with balance between the fruit and oak.
What the Critics Said:
“This wine is rich, with aromas of dark plum, Bing cherry, blackberry coulis, dried florals and bittersweet chocolate. Flavors open further to sour cherry and molasses, interlaced with dried tobacco, orange rind and a dry finish with gripping tannins. Pair with grilled Wagyu beef.

When we opened the bottle we were greeted with aromas of dark berry. The wine was well-balanced, dense and full-bodied flavors of dark current and boysenberry with chewy tannins and a velvety texture on the palate, the fruit was balanced with a touch of spice, maybe cardamon. We had a surprising pairing with Indian food, the lush fruit from the wine paired well with the spices. Cheers!
